Switch it, Change it, Rearrange it

Name one item you can think of that will never go out of style. If you’re incapable of doing so, here’s a hint: they are plaid, comfortable, you can affordable, good for all types of weather, and you can probably find them buried in your father’s closet. If you still don’t know, I am referring to flannels. When I don’t know what to wear, my go to item is the flannel. Flannels go way back to when my parents were kids and I am sure they will be in the present when I have kids. Flannels match with just about anything: jeans, shorts, leggings, sneakers, knee high boots, hiking boots, hats, you name it. You can wear a flannel shirt as a cover up on the beach or in the winter when it is two degrees outside. It doesn’t matter what type of casual occasion it is; a flannel is always appropriate. I have depended on this article of clothing for at least the last decade or so. I’ve learned to dress up my flannel shirts and make them proper and preppy, but I’ve also learned to make them grungy and earthy looking too. They’re diverse to say the least. Here I will show you two ways I chose to sport the same exact flannel in totally different styles. The first photo is of Meghan wearing a nice grey sweater with the flannel. The flannel is accented underneath the sweater, you can see it folded with her three quarter sleeves and you can see it at the top by her collar area. I topped off the look with a sparkly statement necklace and booty heels to make it look presentable and preppy. This is a very out of the box way to sport a flannel, yet it looks so classy and unique.

The second photo is a completely different way to utilize the flannel. Meghan is wearing the flannel open here with a casual worn in t-shirt underneath. I topped off the outfit with leggings, converse, and scrunchy socks. The colors accent the flannel well and the outfit gives off a relaxing, laid back vibe. It is perfect for walking around on a fall day in an urban area, going to a spring Dave Matthews Band concert, or even for sitting in Carrier library to study. It is grungy, yet presentable in every way.

I think everyone can appreciate how great flannels are. I sure hope flannels never go out of style; they have always been my number one go to item during many of my “I don’t know what to wear” outfit disasters. You can easily Switch it, Change it, Rearrange it with any flannel you own
