Kaitlyn Paeonessa, a Senior Economics and International Affairs double major was absolutely dressed for success. Her simple black pantsuit and patterned shirt was effortless and chic. This was absolutely planned out on her part. “It’s important not to overstate your style in an interview setting. Maybe just one piece that stands out.” She cautioned me on the use of more flashy jewelry. “I’ve seen girls in these bright statement necklaces but I just don’t think that translates to being professional.”
As for her everyday style, Kaitlyn reiterates a common COB student statement: “I never wear sweatpants.” She also reiterated the theme of if you look good, you feel good, and therefore you shall do good. This concept is not acknowledged often enough and it was a breath of fresh air to hear.
Kaitlyn hopes to work in New York City post grad and she will undoubtedly fit in. She was instantly likeable and you could just tell she gave one hell of an interview. Kaitlyn believes heavily in keeping professionalism alive. “I think professionalism is underrated. Nailing an interview is about believing in yourself and owning your interview. You can answer any question that comes your way if you have confidence in yourself.”
