It happens every year. We anxiously await colder weather, with the promise of being swathed in sweaters and laced up in our most fashionable boots. But then, we remember why we hate the cold. Because it’s cold! However, with temperatures reaching up to 70 degrees, we’re experiencing a good old ‘Indian Summer,’ summer’s last heat wave. Here are some tips to dress for fall in a more summery climate. Layers, layers, layers Here’s an opportunity to show off some lighter sweaters without a cumbersome coat covering them. Lighter jackets are also helpful; with the blast of warm air, you can get some more wear out of your warm weather oriented tops by pairing them with a lighter jacket. Keep the footwear interesting Flip-flop season is most definitely over but a stylish sandal can look great with a black pair of jeans and fall-inspired top. 'Indian Summer’s’ are also a great chance to focus on the boots. Pair combat boots with tights and jean shorts for a more punk look or grunge up a more summery dress. Either way, you’ll be looking and feeling cool in the heat. Show just enough skin That is, if you’re wearing jeans, feel free to show a little more on top. Likewise, if you’re wearing a skirt or shorts, pair it with a cropped, long-sleeved sweater. This will help you transition into the colder weather perfectly.
